MANNOL GEAR GL-4/5 SAE 250 8122
Attention! The packaging is illustrative and may differ from its actual appearance. For the latest list of specifications, see the text section.
MANNOL Gear Oil SAE 250 is a premium mineral gear oil blended from low viscosity index base stocks and intended for mild service in a broad range of automotive, manual transmission, and industrial gear and bearing applications operating under conditions of low unit pressure and minimum sliding velocities. They may contain oxidation, rust and corrosion inhibitors, anti-foam agents and pour point depressants.
SAE 250 GL-5 gear oils contain friction modifiers or extreme pressure additives.
Applications and Benefits:
MANNOL Gear Oil SAE 250 is recommended for use in:
• Automotive gear systems – including certain manual transmissions, differentials, and axles of older design, where very high-viscosity lubricants are required for adequate film thickness at elevated temperatures.
• Industrial gear units – enclosed spur, helical, bevel, and worm gears operating at low speeds, low unit loads, and moderate temperatures, particularly in cases where leakage control requires heavy oils.
• Bearings and couplings – large plain and rolling bearings, as well as heavily loaded flexible couplings, where high-viscosity mineral oils provide protection against wear and noise.
• Agricultural and construction equipment – gearboxes, reduction drives, and auxiliary units in machinery operating under low sliding velocities and mild operating conditions.
• Vintage and heritage vehicles – classic cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles designed for straight mineral gear oils, where modern low-viscosity EP lubricants may not be suitable.
• Due to their high viscosity, these lubricants form a durable protective film that minimises wear, reduces leakage losses, and ensures adequate lubrication in applications with low unit pressure and minimal relative sliding.
